✌ Words of Our Volunteers

I joined MIMA as a volunteer during the summer vacations in 2021. I was in charge of taking sessions for underprivileged children, boosting the social media presence of the NGO and admin tasks. It was amazing to interact with children in the weekly youth meetings and art sessions, they were always excited to discuss or participate in various activities. To ensure smooth functioning, there was always at least one NGO member who handled all the logistics (and who also provided smooth functioning of the sessions); all of which made the sessions all the more exciting and a two-way learning process. I personally had a lot of learning in these three months from making posters, reports and presentations; the knowledge that my work would be published in public made me want to put sincere effort into each task I was given, which led to my learning. Of course, all this would not have been possible without the continuous support and feedback. I have recommended MIMA to many of my friends looking to volunteer at an NGO and will continue to do so.
During the summer of 2021, I wanted an opportunity to give back to society. That is when I came to know about MIMA. MIMA has a volunteer program where people can volunteer for this NGO’s community work. What better opportunity I can find than this? So I immediately became part of it. The program offers you a never-to-forget experience with kids and NGO people. During my time at MIMA, I learned and accomplished many feats that I didn’t know I could do before. Earlier. I was hesitant to interact with lots of people, but when I started taking the Fun and Learn session with the MIMA kids, it boosted and helped me develop this skill. Interacting with kids with interesting content was very cheerful. Along with this, I also provided content in the form of digital posters (which I learned through this opportunity), reports, and reviews on a weekly basis for the NGO. MIMA’s volunteer program is something that I would recommend to everyone because it not only gives you the chance to do something for society but also give you tools to improve your skills which is rare with other programs. Thank you! for this lovely journey and memories.

Going to MIMA has been one of the best decisions I have made. When I first started to go to MIMA, I was not sure if Social Work was exactly where I wanted to be. However, after spending my 1st week there. I knew I was right to join. The whole team at MIMA have always been supportive and encouraging to me. They are an extremely committed and passionate group. The best part of MIMA are the Children there, full of energy and the want to learn more. Teaching them have been the best part here. It is a pleasure and fortunate thing for me to work here. I Sincerely wish MIMA been an NGO to extend itself to all pieces of the state and one day spread its wings to different parts on the nation and serve all those in need.
Working at the NGO (MIMA) has been a very insightful and beautiful experience for me. It gave me the opportunity to interact with and teach the super smart but underprivileged children of our society which further boosts my confidence and aggravates my ffascination towards the very task 'social welfare'. I must highlight the fact that the management of MIMA and the children who are part of it are highly active and attentive. The organisation, with all my warm wishes, shall grow up even more and enlighten the lives of thousands of children.
My experience at MIMA was really good. Working at MIMA was one of the best opportunities I got. The experience at MIMA helped me grow in many aspects. Being a part of MIMA gave me the chance to do something for the betterment of the society. All the members of the NGO are very helpful and hardworking. As a student myself, working at MIMA and teaching unprivileged kids taught me the importance of education. I hope the organization achieves its goals.
My experience at MIMA was really enriching. The impact we were able to create by educating students on Mental health went beyond LSRMUN, by engaging with children we gave them a platform to connect with and talk about such issues. I am honored to be a part of the organization and contribute in a small way and shall try to remain so. Wishing all the very best to MIMA for carrying out the excellent work and creating milestones ahead.
