A few words about
What We Do
Our projects
MIMA is involved in numerous projects.
PROJECT Enlightenment
Project ENLIGHTENMENT is a transformative initiative dedicated to deliver quality education to underprivileged children and build a brighter, more promising future and break the cycle of poverty.
The Enlightenment Project was started with the intention of providing quality education and overall developement of underprivileged children from the slum areas. It has already reached out to hundreds of kids over the past 12 years, working on not only academics but also cultivating their skills in creativity, public speaking, arts and crafts, life skills, reading, and writing. The project ensures children get necessary school stationery so that lack of materials will never be an obstacle towards their studies. Every month, the students who are most improved are recognized to encourage them. Many success stories have come out of this. Project participants who entered the program at 3rd or 4th grade with poor academic performance have now graduated, got good employment, and some have even returned to volunteer at MIMA. The initiative has continued to help empower the children to foster self-confidence and shape their future with education and skills.
PROJECT DURI-Digitalise Un-Reached India
Project DURI is an initiative to empower underprivileged children by providing essential computer education, bridging the digital gap, and enhancing future opportunities.
Project DURI (Digitalize Un-Reached India) is a flagship initiative of Mera India Mera Adhikar (MIMA) with the support of Dr. Shahana Mazumdar. The project aim to provide free basic computer education to underprivileged kids. DURI is currently operational at Kanak Durga Camp, Sector 12, RK Puram. offering classes to children from 5th to 12th grade students imparting basic digital skills to them necessary for the world today. The effect is significant—hundreds of children have learned to make presentations, finish school projects, and use the computer with confidence. Some of our senior students have even gained employment and ending the cycle of poverty. This year, MIMA went a step further by awarding 23 laptops to students in critical need of computers to aid in their studies, so no child is left behind. Project DURI goes on bridging the digital divide, enabling children with knowledge, skills, and resources to succeed in a rapidly digitalizing society.
project Shashakt
Project SHASHAKT connects underprivileged children with volunteers from universities and corporates through weekend learning classes and activities.
Project SHASHAKT, which is also called MIMA’s weekend learning classes, connects underprivileged children of R.K. Puram slums with volunteers from universities and corporations correlated under Project SHASHKAT. The summer camp is where volunteers meet the kids over weekends and interact with them in something fun, in which most of those bonds blossom, leading eventually to mentorship—volunteering in the education of the children. In sync with its mission, SHASHAKT also conducts regular drives for the distribution of school supplies and winter wear among students so that they do not have to face any hindrances while attending classes. It aims to spark learning and curiosity and give the children some necessary support for their future.

PROJECT Navodaya
Project NAVODAYA is one of the projects started to bring children towards education by using football as a tool.
Project Navodaya is an initiative that uses football as a tool to engage children from deprived localities in an alternative to being lost in negative influences available to them in slum localities, towards education, discipline, and positivity. The initiatives have over 50% of girls participating, providing feedback to improve the project. The opportunity provided to the participants is empowering young girls and developing their confidence to dream big. We are working with groups like DYFA (Delhi Youth Football Academy) and Star Strikers to give our participants the opportunity to showcase their talents on other platforms. It is not only about improving their football skills but has also had an impact on reducing screen time and increasing concentration on their studies. Our girls have represented Navodaya in leadership summits organized by G4G ( GOAL FOR GIRLS ) organization in Bangalore, Goa, and Mumbai. Project Navodaya provides safe and structured environments for the development of aspirations, confidence, and values of teamwork, leadership, and persistence in children from disadvantaged communities.
SAHELI PROGRAM
MIMA NGO’s Empowerment Program Supporting Adolescent Girls’ Menstrual Health, Confidence, and Hygiene Through Monthly Workshops and Sanitary Pad Distribution.
Saheli is a uniquely designed program by MIMA NGO to facilitate adolescent girls during their vital changing hormonal journey. Saheli sees the impact of a lack of understanding and open discourse around menstruation and reproductive health. Saheli aims to create a space where girls can learn, share and grow with confidence and security. MIMA volunteers become Sahelis or trusted friends to girls through fun interactive workshops every month to teach girls about menstrual health, hygiene practices, emotional feelings, taboos etc. Besides sharing knowledge and insights with the girls monthly, we also provide sanitary pads so no girl misses out on schooling or activities due to a lack of access to sanitary materials. Several girls, from MIMA centers at R.K. Puram, have taken advantage of Saheli’s support and walked away with the confidence and understanding to manage their health with dignity. Saheli isn’t just about sanitary pads. It’s about community, connection and empowerment.
